These include plants that are currently threatened with extinction. Many of these specimens also contain seeds, and it has been discovered that some of these seeds remain viable in a dormant state. By collecting and sowing these seeds, it may be possible to revive plants that have become extinct in certain regions or to restore the genetic diversity of wild populations. Botanical specimens, although dried, dead and in a different state from when they grew in the wild, also have aspects of living biological material. In this special exhibition, we aim to showcase the germination potential and scientific value of seeds and spores preserved in botanical specimens.
